Dubai Gets More New Hotels

Dubai hotels increased the number of guests staying during 2006 and opened several new hotels.

According to the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, eight new hotels were opened in Dubai during 2006 and the number of guests increased by 3.3% to 6.3 million.

Dubai now has 415 hotels but needs many more if they are to fulfil their plans to increase the number of visitors to 15 million a year by 2010. According to a report in Gulf News that would require between 80,000 to 100,000 hotel rooms.
