I read the 'Ancient Sands' blog with great interest ... it's good to see something new in this area, as there is a sort of 'been there; done that' ethos about the Nile valley.

Does the 'exclusive tour' of the Gizeh plateau mean freedom from the hawkers and touts? (I don't think they're a problem, but they do put many people off)

Definitely recommend the Gizeh plateau sound and light show ... although, for my money, THE best is the one at Philae. But, with all S&L shows, you need to check that the one on the day you decide to attend will be presented in a language you can understand.
